Raireshwar / रायरेश्वर
Rairi Plateau is 90 km from Pune and 28 km from Bhor. It is worth visiting in one day from Pune. Dense forests, deep valleys, high peaks, uneven plateaus, narrow gorges make this area inaccessible.
Where is the plateau of Raireshwar?
There are steps to go from the base to the fort, after climbing the steps one reaches a vertical cliff. An iron ladder and a railing have been installed to climb this ridge. As soon as you reach the top of the fort by the ladder, you can see the huge plateau of Raireshwar in front of you. The expansion of the plateau is 16 km wide and the temple of Raireshwar during the Pandava period can be seen on this plateau.
Another feature of this fort is that seven colors of soil can be seen at one place in which blue, green, red, red, yellow, black, purple and bluish colors are found. Another feature of the Rairi Plateau is the reverse waterfall that flows here during monsoons (Rainwater flows in a reverse direction due to air pressure instead of falling down the plateau). Along with this, there are many points worth seeing like Reverse Vice Point, Sunset Point, Shiva’s time tanks.
